The 13th Street Community
Park and Garden is just getting started.
Although lots of people look forward to the day next Spring where the empty lot is replaced with a wonderful green space for the benefit of the whole neighborhood, much work needs to be done before that day! We are looking for people interested in helping to design, construct, and maintain the community park. If you have an artistic eye, or more of a green thumb, we can use your help!
We also need energetic and entrepreneurial people interested in helping us to raise funds to maintain and improve the park and garden. A community park is not free, and we need a lot of support to maintain the beauty of the site. Please consider joining our fundraising efforts!
We are also happy to receive donations of gardening supplies and the like. We are a registered DC non-profit corporation. At present, we are working on all proper filings that would allow us to receive monetary donations and we are working towards an IRS Section 501(c)(3) status, which could make such contributions tax deductible.
