13th Street Community Park and Garden Education Programs

Our organization is dedicated to offering residents not simply a place to come together, but also a place to learn.

As the garden takes shape, the 13th Street Community Park and Garden will offer several opportunities for neighbors to learn gardening techniques, including programs focused on:

  • How to design a garden
  • How to decide the best plants for certain light and soil conditions
  • How to learn what plants are native to our climate and what will grow best
  • How to start a compost pile
  • How to garden organically
  • How to trap and reserve rain water for garden use
  • How to plant and care for city trees
  • How to get children interested in gardening
