Our organization is dedicated to offering residents not simply a place to come together, but also a place to learn.
As the garden takes shape, the 13th Street Community Park and Garden will offer several opportunities for neighbors to learn gardening techniques, including programs focused on:
- How to design a garden
- How to decide the best plants for certain light and soil conditions
- How to learn what plants are native to our climate and what will grow best
- How to start a compost pile
- How to garden organically
- How to trap and reserve rain water for garden use
- How to plant and care for city trees
- How to get children interested in gardening
